Bannau Brycheiniog (Brecon Beacons) National Park is inviting the public to join its Heritage Day on Saturday 14 October 2023. The Heritage Day will celebrate the work undertaken by the Park Authority and its partners to promote the management and protection of the Historic Environment for the benefit of this and future generations. This free event begins with a glimpse into Bannau Brycheiniog’s vision for the future, the launch of the Historic Environment Action Plan, and exploration of the Climate Change Sector Adaptation Plan. The natural history of the River Usk will be presented, offering a unique perspective on the past and present.
Afternoon sessions include insights into conservation grazing and heritage management at Garn Goch, followed by a presentation on the Penpont Project. Speed briefings will provide condensed insights into various projects, including the Tramroads Project, Heritage Crime, Farmsteads Characterization, and the Peatland Project. At the end of the event, participants are invited to join the Brecon Story Walk, a perfect opportunity to absorb the rich heritage of the town.
