Youth Schemes

We are delighted to invite you to join our youth schemes. Our youth warden scheme and youth committee are both aimed at young people aged 15-18.

Youth Wardens

The Bannau Brycheiniog National Park Youth Wardens Scheme is a new, exciting and adventurous outdoor programme for young people aged 15-18 years. The scheme begins in September and will run across the academic year to July. Youth Warden days will take place once a month on weekends and during school holidays at different locations across the Bannau Brycheiniog National Park.

As a Youth Warden you could find yourself:

  • Surveying for wildlife
  • Planting trees
  • Path and access maintenance
  • Participating in fun events
  • Taking part in Youth Warden exchanges and camps

By joining our Youth Warden Scheme, you will:

  • Make new friends
  • Develop and learn new skills
  • Discover lots of amazing wildlife
  • Learn about the National Park Warden Service and what being a Warden involves
  • Build your confidence
  • Work towards gaining a John Muir Award
  • Have fun in the outdoors
  • Cake and other sweet treats provided…!

Youth Committee

We are looking for dedicated and passionate young people aged 15-18 to tell us how we should run the National Park, both now, and in the future.

You will form part of our new Youth Committee which will discuss and impact how the National Park’s future will look. As part of the Committee, you will meet once a month to discuss a variety of issues, including things like climate change, opportunities for young people, local jobs and much more. It will be led by you, for you.
