The internationally renowned Saline Fiddlers – a talented 20 strong group of young Americans – will accompany the equally popular Côr Meibion Aberhonddu (Brecon Male Voice Choir) during the charity concert at the National Park Visitor Centre, near Libanus, with the backdrop of Pen y Fan and the Central Beacons.
The Sunday, July 7 concert begins at 3pm and is a rare opportunity to see the high energy and musical panache of the Saline Fiddlers alongside the traditional and rousing sounds of Côr Meibion Aberhonddu. The event will raise funds for Brecon Mayor Matthew Dorrance’s chosen charities Shelter Cymru, Brecon Youth Centre and St John’s Family Centre.
Cllr David Meredith, Bannau Brycheiniog National Park Authority Member and Powys County Councillor for St David’s Ward Brecon, said: “The Saline Fiddlers have played all over the World – including at the White House – so we’re extremely honoured to have them gracing the National Park Visitor Centre. The group will be accompanied by our very own Côr Meibion Aberhonddu for what promises to be a fantastic event that will further strengthen the bond between Saline and Brecon, while raising funds for charity at the same time.”
Brecon Town Councillor Rosemary Evans, added: “Brecon has been twinned with Saline for over 50 years, and during that time the friendship between the two communities has really blossomed. We’re delighted to be able to welcome the fantastic Saline Fiddlers over from the other side of the Atlantic for this special concert.”
Lunch bookings are available before the event, but places are going fast so telephone 01874 624979 to book your place.
