Held annually at Bannau Brycheiniog National Park Authority’s National Park Visitor Centre, near Libanus, the fun-filled Bank Holiday weekend bonanza is about to welcome thousands of visitors once again. Come rain or shine a fantastic array of local food, arts and crafts will be on offer, with plenty of exciting and inspiring activities to entertain young children, including face-painting, clowns and jugglers.
The Summer Fayre is one of the highlights of the National Park event calendar, and gives local food producers the perfect opportunity and setting to promote Welsh produce – there’s plenty to tickle your fancy.
The selection of local produce on offer at this year’s Summer Fayre will include organic meats, dressings, fresh fruit and vegetables, jams, chutneys, smoked foods, honey, bread, ciders, beers and wines, cheeses, biscuits cakes, chocolates, ice creams and much, much more.
Other festivities on offer to entertain visitors over the three-day event include a live Welsh folk band, pottery workshops, falconry demonstrations, water colour painting workshops and wood turning.
The Dry Stone Walling Association will also be present during the Summer Fayre to build a new permanent bench at the National Park Visitor Centre, thanks to funding from the Bannau Brycheiniog Trust – a charitable company established to help conserve and enhance the Bannau Brycheiniog National Park.
Catering Manager for the National Park Visitor Centre Tearooms Andrew Powell, and his staff, will be welcoming over 10,00 visitors over the three day event, all keen to browse and buy from more than 60 trade stands offering the very best Welsh food, arts, and crafts.
Andrew said: “Once again we’re delighted to be hosting the Sumer Fayre, and we look forward to welcoming Fayre-goers from near and far to this popular event.
“With so much top quality Welsh food, arts and crafts, activities and live entertainment on offer, I can’t think of a better place to be this Bank Holiday weekend.”
Cllr Jane Ward, Bannau Brycheiniog National Park Authority’s Shadow Member Champion for Visitor Centres, added: “Every year the Summer Fayre gets bigger and better, and it’s a fantastic opportunity for local exhibitors to display their wares and show everyone just how special food and the arts are here in the Bannau Brycheiniog.
“So whether you live here, work here or just come to visit here there will definitely be something that will appeal to all the family at our Summer Fayre.”
