National Parks Wales = Winning Landscapes

Whilst running 26 miles, high jumping over hedgerows or
synchronised swimming in lakes is not obligatory and is far from being
encouraged, each of the three National Parks in Wales is offering alternative
options to people who wish to escape the hurly burly of daily life, or who wish
to get rid of the winter blues and mental cobwebs, or who simply want to get
fit for the summer holidays.

Mrs Julie James, Chairman of Bannau Brycheiniog National Park
Authority said:  “The National Parks of Wales have so many diverse walking
experiences to offer the experienced walker or the absolute
beginner.   With variety like Rhaeadr Abergwyngregyn in Snowdonia, or
Newport Town and Estuary on the Pembrokeshire Coast, or Pen y Fan and a canal
stroll in the Bannau Brycheiniog all you have to do is log onto our websites to
check the routes and weather forecasts, wear suitable clothing and shoes and
respect the countryside.  London might have the Olympics but we have a different
types of track and field activities here in the Bannau Brycheiniog and we want to
encourage everyone to come and enjoy them.”

Each National Park has provided on its website a list of 26 walks
which feature routes suitable for a variety of abilities and include an
assortment of lengths.
