Join us for a day of photo-taking fun at the Llangors Lake circular walk dubbed ‘Bwlch with Altitude’ that offers a challenge (besides the 12 mile walk) starting at 11.00am on Saturday 28th August.
Now in its third year, the 12mile circular walk along one of Wales’ most beautiful lakes is offering a new challenge for walkers which asks them to take photographs of specific subjects along the route. The team who capture the most images will win £100 to donate towards a charity chose by the winning team.
The energetic walk starts and finishes in Bwlch, near Crickhowell and will involve taking a series of specific photographs whilst visiting two beautiful churches – Llangors and Llangasty – whilst taking in the magnificent views of Llangors Lake – South Wales’ largest lake.
Supported by Bannau Brycheiniog National Park Authority’s Collabor8 project, the event starts at 11.00am and costs just £7.00 per person. The whole event should finish around 5.00pm with a free hot dogs and chips sponsored by Beacons Farm Shop, the Welsh Venison Centre. The closing date for entries is Saturday 21st August.
Rhys Champion, owner of the New Inn and Beacons Backpackers said: “Over the past three years we’ve been amazed with the growing popularity of the Bwlch with Altitude Challenge – which is quite something for such a small village. We’ve added a new element to the Challenge with photography so we hope this attracts an even bigger following to this fun event. The great news is that you can come and do this walk anytime of the year not just for the Challenge.”
