Arts and Crafts Exhibition opens this week

Artists and craft makers from Platform One – a local network of artists from around Bannau Brycheiniog National Park – will be exhibiting and selling their work at a showcase exhibition which will include wood turning, photography, knitwear, metalwork, jewellery, pewter work, pottery, leather bags and wool work at the National Park Visitor Centre, near Libanus during the half term break from Saturday 19th February until Sunday 27th February.  Admission is free.

Welcoming the event, Bannau Brycheiniog National Park Authority Member Champion for Visitor Centres and Councillor for Hay, Gareth Ratcliffe said the event was a wonderful opportunity for the visitors to explore the Bannau Brycheiniog National Park and pick up a perfect gift made by creative artists based in and around the Park.  “We are delighted to host another Arts and Crafts festival during the school holiday period which showcases and supports so many talented local artists in the Bannau Brycheiniog and the surrounding area.” he said.
With its idyllic setting overlooking Pen y Fan, when you have finished perusing the crafts you can enjoy the National Park Visitor Centre and tearoom open daily from 9:30am – 5pm.  Admission is free – although there is a small charge for parking.

The National Park Visitor Centre is open every day from 9.30am – 16.30pm and has free visitor entry. For further information please call the National Park Visitor Centre on 01874 623 366 or email visitor.centre@breconbeacons.org
