Meeting the Producers

The event was a chance for local businesses to find the ideal partners to supply their needs for  food and drink, it was also a chance for local chefs to showcase some of the goodies in a masterchef-style cook off.  Local chefs Karl Cheetham from Gliffaes Country House hotel, Andrew Addis Fulller from The Bell at Glangrwyney  and Penny Lewis from The Culinary Cottage wowed the audience by conjuring up dishes using local produce from The Welsh Venison Centre, Black Mountain Smokery and Llanfaes Dairy Ice cream.

A Cheese masterclass  was delivered by David Edwards and was a great hit with the audience while not to be outdone Tom Innes of Irma Fingal led a Welsh Perry, Cider and wine workshop.

The local producers were swamped by the amount of new leads they gathered from the hospitality trade and some new partnerships were discussed between the producers.

Carol Williams, Sustainable Tourism Officer for the National Park Authority and organiser of the event said
“With the beautiful Christ College grounds as a backdrop and perfect sunny weather on the day everyone seemed very content and I think the future looks equally bright for these new relationships.”
