Have you got the local flavour for the True Taste of Wales awards?

As part of a series of Local Food Talks events, Bannau Brycheiniog National Park Authority is hosting an information afternoon at the National Park Offices in Brecon on Monday 18th May from 3pm-4.30pm to support local businesses, pubs, restaurants, tearooms and food producers who want to enter the True Taste of Wales awards.

The free afternoon event will provide an opportunity for local businesses and food producers to not only meet the organisers of the True Taste awards but also meet a former award winner, Matt Scott from Bacheldre Flour.   The short presentation afternoon will explain the different entry categories and exactly what the judges will be looking for, along with information about how winning a True Taste award can help promote and develop your business.

Now in its eighth year and managed by the Welsh Assembly Government, Wales the True Taste of Food & Drink Awards is widely recognised by the food and drink industry and customers alike as the epitome of good quality Welsh produce.

Carol Williams, Tourism Growth Officer for Bannau Brycheiniog National Park Authority said: “The True Taste of Wales awards are an excellent opportunity for our local businesses to put themselves firmly on the map of the Welsh food industry.  These are national awards that really help establish the credibility of local food not only within the local market but right across Wales.

“We have been supporting the local food industry for many years now and we are inviting all interested local businesses and food producers to come along and find out what the True Taste of Wales can do for them.  The finals will be held in Abergavenny so it really is on the doorstep for many of our potential winners.”

The event will take place on Monday 18th May from 3pm-4.30pm at the National Park Offices, Plas y Ffynnon, Cambrian Way, Brecon. To book your place please contact Carol Williams on 01874 620 478 or email carol.williams@breconbeacons.org
